About the artwork
In this wide panoramic canvas from 2015, classical white columns frame a staged, dreamlike vista. A horizontal band of blurred green foliage stretches across the composition, flanked by two pairs of pillars. Subtle vertical gradations of teal, lavender, and a central beam of white light define the background, casting a soft glow onto the calm, slate-toned surface below. Artem Volokitin is a Ukrainian artist born in 1981 whose multidisciplinary practice spans painting, video, and object art. With its balanced symmetry and cool, muted palette, the horizontal format makes this piece well suited for hanging over a long console, sideboard, or sofa in a contemporary interior.Details
