About the artwork
The composition centers on an athlete captured in mid-throw, holding a shot put against her neck with one arm raised in tension. Dressed in a crimson top and white shorts, she dominates the foreground, while a secondary athletic figure appears smaller in the upper background. The saturated palette of vibrant emerald green, red, and warm skin tones is blanketed by a dense, peeling texture resembling an aged fresco or weathered outdoor mural. Created in 2002, this piece reflects Victor Sydorenko's work as a master of metaphor and creator of iconic visual projects, examining human form and collective memory through textured visual surfaces. At 125 by 150 cm, this large-format print makes a strong visual statement. Its balance of vivid color contrast, athletic motion, and distressed texture suits open living areas, studios, or minimalist interiors that welcome graphic energy.Details
