The composition is structured entirely through horizontal bands of varying thickness that run continuously across the surface. A restrained foundation of slate, grey, olive, and warm neutral tones is counterbalanced by vivid bands of bright sky blue, bold red, and deep navy, creating a balanced visual rhythm that suggests an abstracted, compressed cityscape.
Created in 2012, the work is by multidisciplinary artist Ksenia Hnylytska, a member of the Hudrada collective.
With its generous 110 by 150 cm horizontal scale, the painting brings a strong sense of order and linear structure to a room, fitting naturally above a sofa, credenza, or along a wide gallery wall in contemporary interiors.
