Alina Fedotova is a prominent multidisciplinary artist and oceanographer whose work bridges the gap between scientific research and contemporary art (Art & Science). Born in Sevastopol and educated as a professional oceanologist (Lomonosov Moscow State University), she later graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (Kyiv) and Opole University (Poland). Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in her experience with the sea, having participated in significant scientific expeditions to Antarctica and the Arctic (Weddell Sea, Barents Sea). Using painting, graphics, video, and digital scenography, Fedotova explores the themes of environmental ethics, marine ecology, and the concept of the "horizon line." Her works are characterized by a balance between spontaneous intuition and scientific precision. By transforming scientific data into visual metaphors, she invites viewers to contemplate the fragile beauty of ecosystems and our collective responsibility for the planet. Her art has been showcased at international biennials and major venues across Ukraine, Poland, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.

2021 Winner of the Art & Science Residency Grant (Spain), focused on marine research through artistic practice.
2017 Laureate of the Gaude Polonia Scholarship Program of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage (Poland).

Synthesis of Art and Science: Successfully integrated professional oceanographic research with contemporary art, standing along the leading figures in the "Art & Science" movement in Ukraine and Europe.
Expeditionary Art Practice: Conducted unique artistic interventions and performances in extreme environments, including the Arctic (Novaya Zemlya) and the Southern Ocean (Weddell Sea), during scientific expeditions on the research vessels "Captain Beklemishev" and "Akademik Mstislav Keldysh."
