About

"Silence in art is not emptiness. It is a concentrated state of spirit, where visual form becomes a portal to inner freedom and spiritual balance."

Badri Gubianuri (b. 1962) is a Ukrainian conceptual artist of Georgian origin. His work focuses on exploring pure space, light, and energy through the color white. He creates objects, installations, and performances that invite meditation. His works are held in museum and private collections across Ukraine, Europe, and the USA.
Badri Gubianuri is a landmark figure in Ukrainian conceptualism, whose creative path is a profound philosophical exploration of the boundary between the visible and the invisible. Born in Georgia and choosing Kyiv as his artistic home, Badri developed a unique artistic language where "white" is the primary tool. For him, the color white is not an absence of image but a concentration of all possible meanings, light, and spiritual energy. Gubianuri's art leans toward neo-minimalism and Zen philosophy. He works not only with canvas but also with space, creating installations and objects where every element is subject to strict logic and, simultaneously, emotional purity. His "archaeology of light" method allows the viewer to pause and experience silence as an active creative force. Badri often uses natural materials and geometric structures that symbolize the order of the universe. As a co-founder of the "Alliance 22" association, he makes a significant contribution to the development of non-objective art. His works become not just objects of contemplation but a meeting place between man and infinity, encouraging deep intellectual meditation.
