About the artwork
A man and woman lean toward one another in profile, poised at the threshold of a kiss. The composition draws heavily from mid-century comic romance illustration, defined by bold black outlines, solid color blocking in ochre yellow and reddish-brown, and a contrasting black backdrop. Across the scene, neon graffiti lettering, crowns, and spray-paint drips overlay the figures, cutting through the romantic stillness. Sergey Yakimenko uses this interplay between graphic pop imagery and raw urban mark-making to explore the friction between outward intimacy and emotional detachment. At 100 by 100 cm, this square canvas creates an impactful focal point in contemporary interiors, lofts, or minimalist settings that favor bold graphic art and street-inspired aesthetics.Details
