About the artwork
A dense, charcoal-grey silhouette of a palm tree rises through the center of the vertical composition, rendered with thick, tactile impasto paint. Behind the jagged crown of fronds, a soft band of chartreuse spray paint forms a hazy backlight against the pale off-white ground. Turquoise marks slice through the dark trunk, mirrored by light blue line drawings and handwritten script across the lower field. Oleg Tistol is a painter, sculptor, and conceptualist whose work frequently revisits graphic silhouettes and botanical archetypes through striking surface treatments. Measuring 95 by 130 cm, the painting carries a strong architectural presence. Its stark tonal contrast and tactile impasto make it an arresting centerpiece for a contemporary interior, pairing naturally with raw concrete, clean white walls, or understated natural wood.Details
