About the artwork

A deep-sea anglerfish emerges from a dense navy background with an open, jagged jaw and needle-sharp teeth. Extending from its head, an esca shaped like an incandescent lightbulb radiates circular waves of yellow and white light into the dark water, drawing in three small patterned fish. Created by Forma et Impressio, a workshop of sculpture and printmaking, the composition uses sharp linear carving marks and dynamic arcs to convey movement and luminescence in complete darkness. With its high-contrast palette and stylized marine subject, this graphic piece works well framed as a focal point in a contemporary interior, study, or creative studio space.
