About the artwork
The composition presents two stylized nude figures delineated with bold, expressive black contours. Behind them, broad brushwork forms a background in muted sage green, pale grey, and touches of terracotta. A schematic structure sits on the horizon line to the left, with the entire scene bound inside a rough painted black frame. The graphic treatment reduces the figures to raw, primal outlines with wide-eyed expressions. Roman Mykhailov's practice centers on the deformation of images, conceptual graphics, and social symbolism, replacing conventional figurative anatomy with immediate, distilled visual signs. Spanning nearly 180 cm across, this large-format work functions as a commanding graphic focal point on expansive walls, well suited to open-plan living areas, industrial lofts, and contemporary collections.Details
