About the artwork
Not Yet Rain is a work by Igor Konovalov that blends figurative painting with a surreal vision of nature. The painting depicts a group of penguins standing against a vivid green background with a hint of a mountain range on the horizon. The unusual setting — warm green tones instead of the expected icy blues — creates a sense of shifted reality. The penguins appear calm yet seem to await change — the rain that is about to come. This piece is not only about animals and their world but also about anticipation as a state of being: the moment between the present and what is about to happen. It explores the harmony of life with nature and poeticizes the stillness before change.Details
