About

"For me, painting is an opportunity to stop time and capture the elusive vibration of a moment. Color is not merely a pigment but a language of emotions that allows one to convey what is impossible to express in words. Each canvas is a search for the inner light that unites the artist, the matter, and the viewer within a single spiritual space."

His art is a world of lyrical expression and symbolic imagery. The Orest Kosar brand is built on the masterful use of color as an emotional trigger. His works often balance on the edge between reality and a dream-like state, exploring themes of human existence, solitude, and the metaphysical beauty of the mundane through a unique texture-driven approach.
Orest Kosar is a prominent representative of the contemporary Lviv school of painting, whose work has become synonymous with refined colorism and emotional depth. His artistic journey is a search for harmony between classical painting traditions and modern neo-expressionism. The artist's style is recognizable through complex textures and impasto techniques, creating a vibration of light on the canvas surface. At the center of his creative universe is the human being and their metaphysical connection with the world. Kosar's landscapes and figurative compositions are devoid of mundanity; they transform into symbolic spaces filled with silence and nostalgia. His masterful command of color allows him to convey the subtlest nuances of mood. As a recipient of the Ivan Trush Award, Kosar has established himself as an artist who creates a new spiritual reality. His works, held in museums and private collections across Europe and the USA, exemplify the high culture of Ukrainian painting at the turn of the 21st century.
