About

"To me, painting is a way to transform an emotional state into light energy. I do not paint objects; I paint the sensations they leave in space. Each canvas is an open window into an inner world where color and silence prevail."

A representative of modern emotional abstraction and expressive figuration. Her work is characterized by a deep study of color as a psychological tool and a dynamic, multi-layered texture. In her paintings, the artist explores the boundaries between the real and the imaginary, creating a meditative space where light and form interact in fluid motion.
Maya Semenskaya is a prominent representative of contemporary Ukrainian emotional abstraction, whose work is a continuous exploration of the metaphysics of light and color. Her artistic method is based on a complex, almost meditative process of layering paints, where each canvas undergoes stages of transformation from chaos to harmony. Using the technique of thin glazes combined with expressive brushstrokes, Semenskaya creates an effect of vibration and depth, allowing the viewer to literally "immerse" themselves in the space of the painting. In her works, light acts not just as a physical phenomenon but as a spiritual category capable of transforming form and perception of reality. Participation in prestigious international projects, such as "Woman’s Essence" under the auspices of UNESCO, has confirmed the universality of her visual language. Maya's art is a search for a point of stillness in a dynamic world, where abstract forms become conduits for internal dialogue and emotional purification.
