Valentyn Metyk is a radical voice of the Ukrainian "New Wave," whose work operates at the intense intersection of neo-expressionism and digital surrealism. Moving far beyond traditional figurative art, the artist utilizes the human body as a biological canvas to map the invisible fluctuations of energy—from violent accumulation to terminal exhaustion. His method is defined by conscious anatomical distortion and a "glitch" aesthetic translated into the physical medium of oil and acrylic. Metyk’s characters are not static subjects but energetic shells caught in a state of permanent psychic transition. Color in his works acts as an autonomous, almost toxic force that dictates the emotional rhythm of the painting. By integrating the logic of NFT and blockchain aesthetics into classical painting, Metyk explores the vulnerability of human nature in a high-speed information environment, creating a provocative language of modern art.
